We’re on question #3 of step 1 in Celebrate Recovery and taking our time working through the exploration of denial as it pertains to our situations in life.
- Relieves the burden off myself - trying to hide the truth either about our past, present, or future challenges takes a monstrous amount of energy and time. We were meant to give those things over to God (1) (2)
- identifies the problem so it can be fixed - I tell this to my customers all the time. “If you’re not measuring something, you can’t improve it.” This goes one giant leap further because if I don’t even acknowledge what I should be measuring, I have a much longer row to hoe.
- Humbles myself before God - We talked about this in more depth the other day, but God requires a humble spirit. Below are 46 verses I pulled from e-sword (best free bible software on the planet) about humility. Also check out Jeremiah 2:35 and 3:13
