New Music from Jared Anderson Every Tuesday

jared andersonJared Anderson is releasing his first “big-label” solo album on October 3rd, 2006(3rd altogether), and is promoting it on his myspace page by releasing new music each Tuesday until the album hits the shelves. I showed you his video “Ready Now” in a previous post on this blog, and highly recommend checking out his music released last week, entitled “Running Away”.

You may be familiar with some of singer/pianist/songwriter Jared Anderson’s work with the popular Christian artists – “The Desperation Band,” who wrote songs like “Free” (I am free to run… I am free to run, I am free to dance, etc.), “Rescue,” “Amazed,” and many other great worship songs your church worship band may have performed on a recent Sunday.

I’m really throwing darts here, but if you are one of the four people in Colorado Springs who read this blog (and your name isn’t Jared), you can check out his songs and some great fellowship at the Saturday night service for the 20s & 30s crowd (younger and older invited as well) at New Life Church.

My wife and I really dig his tunes. He does some really great piano work, and his lyrics are much more creative than the “praise-grace” “love-above” rhymes that much Christian music is awash in. That’s not a severe criticism – modern Christian music rocks, but I sometimes chuckle when I hear it in three straight songs on the radio :) . For the record, I’m not just backseat driving. I write Christian music… just without the musical ear or talent, and struggle with copping out on those common Christian cliches as well. ;)

If you like the Lord’s music that is flowing through this young man, be sure to bookmark his myspace page. I first heard Jared live at Promise Keepers in 2005, and he can sing! If your memory is garbage like me, set yourself an email reminder. I think I’ll set a reminder to pick up his album October 3rd right now.

If you know of some other up-and-coming Christian artists, please share them by clicking on the “add comment” link at the bottom of this post.

Have a blessed day!
