  1. Hello,

I have seen your web site on several occasions, and I find it very informative, and inspirational. Though I have some disheartening news about the Promise Keepers schedule for 2007.

During our preparation for doing Prison Ministries, and Ministries in Palomas Mexico, I had emailed Promise Keepers and asked if we could get any training assistance, and posibly utilize some of their information. I was contacted earlier this month and got the approval, though I was also informed that Promise Keepers was in the process of scaling back their main Promise Keepers events from the scheduled sixteen, down to five major cities across the United States, and then they would schedule what is called PK Gatherings, which could be requested by churches in various communites, as necessary. They are also considering scaling back on corporate staffing. Most of what I am being told is due to the lack of financial support from those who have attended the conferences in the past.

This information has not been made official yet, but we shuld be receiving something from Promise Keepers within the next couple of weeks.

We need to pray that Promise Keepers can continue their mission, “Thransforming Men Worldwide”, but we also need to contact other men who have attended Promise Keepers events, that want to see Promise Keepers continue their events as usual, and try to drum up financial support for Promise Keepers International.

Please feel free to contact me, and I will deffinitly keep you informed as I hear anything else concerning this matter.

  2. I was looking forward to going June 22-23 to Oklahoma as other men that have never attended a Promise Keepers conference…I so need this as the other men…I pray that the conferences will go as planned and donations will pour in…

  3. Hey Manuel,

The two-day conference for Oklahoma City got canceled, but they are planning some CityCenter events to replace them which will be one-day events. The full details of those should be out Monday, 2/26 so stay tuned – I’ll update the site. Our prayers are with you and the other guys. One-day or Two-day event – no big deal. The power of the Lord will be all over the guys in that place.

  4. What are the times for the conference for Friday and Saturday during the 2007 s chdeule? There are about 10-15 of us that may be attending your conference in San Antonio Texas in July but dont know what the times are going to be. Thank you for your time and God bless.

  6. I can not believe that there are no scheduled events for the east coust.
What would cause you to drop the east coast off your schedule?

P.S Ive been to Promise Keepers in Philly & Albany.

  7. Hi Brian,

This isn’t the PK website so I can’t speak for the organization, but my discussions with their staff centered around a lack of financial support. Promise Keepers had been losing money every year. Putting on those events takes a great amount of $. Scaling back would allow Promise Keepers to be good stewards of what the Lord has given them.

The most obvious explanation for them not keeping the Northeast conference venues were that they were not financially supported to the degree of the others. Not that the goal is to make money, but somebody has to pay the piper, and God doesn’t want Christians “stiffing” people on the check.

Cincinnati looks like your best bet – since you’ve been before, you know it would be worth the trip -

  8. Will you be coming to boise Idaho soon !

It would be a blessing for our community ~

  9. I was saddend by you decision to cancel some events. I have been attending conferences every year since 1993. Sometime more than one. I found the conference were the spiritual “shot in the arm” I needed to make it through the year. It appears that PK is dwindling away. There is nothing happening in our area in the chuch or with PK itself. I appreciate what you’ve done in the past and I’m sorry that it appears PK is nearing an end. The early conferences were the best. God Bless!

  10. Jak,

PK isn’t going away – they’re just being better stewards of their money. If If I had the choice to run 12 events at a deficit or 6 deficits and break even, I’d have to choose the latter.

If you get the folks fired up in that area to attend & support the ministry, they’ll be back. I can pretty much guarantee it.

  11. I am available to speak on such topics as Domestic Violence, Anger Management, Trauma Therapy, etc. Where can I send my bio and resume?
