An Ocean Baptism and the "Great Swear-off"
All tied up at 7 apiece after 2 weeks. Pretty awesome considering where we were 48 hours into the "the Great Swear-off". My most recent blunder came on Sunday.
Ironically it came just after our church finished conducting a ocean baptism, of which yours truly was a participant - that’s right, while I’m sure I am going to heaven, I wanted to make a formal public declaration to Christ. The whole event was great. Each participant had the opportunity to thank God and share just a little bit about what got them there. There were probably around 60 or so baptized that day. It was also a very cool visual witnessing tool for any passers-by. No one made a big show, like “Hey look at how Holy we are.” Rather everyone was focused on the glorious event at hand. What made it even better was that our small group attended. Thanks to the whole crew for their love and support!
My wife and I stayed after the event to play in the waves, and I stepped on a shell under the water which cut my foot. Thankfully my wife is staying committed to us cleaning up our language so we may be more consistent witnesses for Christ even when the pressure is on. As I grabbed my foot and expelled a not-so-nice description of what just happened, she said, "Are you OK? Good… You know that will be 5 bucks." : )

Thank you for the information on how long it takes to read the Bible. 76 hours. I entered the question on Google and your site was first on the list. I’m 42 years old. I was raised in a Christian home. I accepted God’s gift of salvation at the age of 12. I’m ashamed to say that I have never read the entire Bible through from start to finish. God has given me the desire to read thru the Bible as many times as I possibly can.
I just wanted to enter a little something just to encourage you and let you know that your site has encouraged me.
