I entertain Mormons because,
a) I hope they will turn and repent when they hear the true gospel,
b)it keeps them from my non-christian neighbors.

I went back on my own advice and invited a couple Mormon missionaries in last spring. Big mistake.

These guys were deceptive from the get-go. I asked them point-blank several things I had learned from Mormons about their faith and they carefully tried to mislead me without actually lying. Word games are just as bad, folks.

When I found some information on the internet that I wanted to ask them about, they used the old “you can’t believe anything on the internet” excuse. I said, “but they’re quoting books from your religion. You have those in your bag – let’s take a look.” Then they changed the subject.

I wouldn’t believe everything I read, but the cool thing about the web is that you can look for consensus, which is the mark of well-researched papers or any scientific study. My guess is the LDS church feeds them that so they don’t do any research on their own religion.

The worst part was that these guys smirked to each other the whole conversation and were extremely disrespectful in a condescending, passive-aggressive manner. Mormons – if you’re going to pitch me on that I have misunderstood the message of Christ, you’d better at least act like the Jesus I know.
