I always had a lot of trouble with acceptance and determining God's will for my life. The other night around the AA campfire we have at our place on Saturday nights the question of how to wear the world like a loose garment came up. That was easy for me...now that I love the Lord I know what my final destination is, I know that the world is in the state it is due to the effects of sin and that it is all happening right on schedule. Because of knowing God's word I now know why my life is the way it is and why the world sucks and what the outcome of the story is. But after I accepted Christ, he brought me up out of my sorrow and where all those feelings of regret and deep pain had been, love, hope, and passion remain. I'm just starting to make a relationship to him. I used to have a real strong week each year where I could feel his power inside me. I don't want his love to be an once-a-year thing. I tried forever to push it down and hide it because I didn't want to be like my biological father. However, it always resurfaced in the worst way. I cried out to God, recognized that without Him I would never conquer it. He answered my cries! Now, if I could be more faithful in desiring His strength with patience, worry, lust, idolatry ... I'd be moving in the right direction! The great part is, as you know, He loves us as we are right now. Of course, knowing Him, makes me want to ditch these sins even more.
